UPS WorldShip and FedEx Shipping Manager are the two most common shipping programs used to integrate with the real-time manifest special in ProfitMaker. In other instances, a customer may be using a third party shipping program for integration or have an online shipping application from UPS or FedEx. Thus, requests for integration requirements covering a wide range of shipping programs have been made.

There are two concepts to consider for the real-time manifest special in ProfitMaker.

First, shipping programs can take ProfitMaker order information from two files (in *.dbf format) from a user defined manifest path. If the shipping manifest courier can read information from a *.dbf file, then it will be able to import order information from ProfitMaker.

Second, ProfitMaker imports shipping information to orders through a text file. The text file may have a comma delimited or fixed length format. To import fulfillment orders, it is recommended to use a fixed length text file for importing. Regardless of the format, if the shipping program has the ability to export shipping information to a text file, then it may be used for integration. For many users, setting up a shipping program to export information through an ODBC text driver is sufficient.
